"Nieuport 28 C1 94th Aero Squadron ""Hat-in-Ring"", American Expeditionary Corps (AEF)"


This model is an authentic replica of the Nieuport 28 C1 flown by the 94th Aero Squadron "Hat-in-Ring", American Expeditionary Corps (AEF) during the later part of WWI 1918. This aircraft was flown by pilot,  Captain Kenneth Marr. May 1918. The aircraft equipped with 150 hp Gnome Monosoupape 4-N engine. This aircraft served with the famous 'Hat-in-ring' squadron. This combination (squadron & type) scored the first victory by an American trained pilot. The Nieuport 28 (N.28C-1) was a French biplane fighter aircraft flown during World War I, built by Nieuport and designed by Gustave Delage. Its principal claim to fame is that it was the first aircraft to see service with an American fighter squadron.
