ABOUT

Welcome to AIRshows America and thank you for visiting our online store.

By the grace of God, I grew up in the United States Air Force family, and proud to be a USAF Brat. My father & father-in-law are both retired USAF Majors.  From 1961 to 1979, our family was stationed at the following USAF bases:

Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas
March AFB, Riverside California
Keesler AFB, Biloxi, Mississippi
Torrejon AFB, Madrid, Spain
Offutt AFB, Omaha, Nebraska
Mather AFB, Sacramento, California
Incirlik AFB, Adana, Turkey

My childhood dreams of serving in either the USN and USAF were erased because of a history of Asthma and poor vision, so I opted for a career with NASA and spacecraft flight operations. I have over 30 years of experience flying various type of spacecraft, from 25+ Space Shuttle flights, to the Voyager mission to the outer planets of our solar system, at the following NASA Centers:

Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California
Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas
Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Maryland

I currently work for TASC here in Northern Virginia, just outside Washington DC, where I provide systems engineering and operations expertise on some of the most cutting edge advanced aerospace technologies and projects in the world!

AIRshows America Background

I started AIRshows America as an Ebay business January 14, 2001 in the hopes of adding to my diecast model airplane collection. I started selling diecast model airplanes on Ebay as a way to finance my collection obsession. My personal collection of diecast model airplanes is better than 100 pieces, and my favorite manufacturer is Corgi, Dragon Wings, and Model Power.

My ultimate goal is to have an online store, mail order catalog, and possibly a physical store located near the USAFA, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

My online business is unique because I include the history of each model airplane I have in my inventory. As an aviation historian, I take the time to investigate the history of each plane; the pilot, squadron, era, any historical significance, and I do this for free.

I also have the largest selection of hard-to-find, discontinued diecast model airplanes in new condition. If you need an item to complete your collection, chances are I have it, or know how to get it.

Thank you for visiting AIRshows America. If there is anything we can do to make your shopping experience with us better, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
